During my Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM), I was welcomed by the William Harvey Research Institute, Queen Mary University of London (United Kingdom). The main objective of my stay was to learn how to process and quantify major specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPMs) and their intermediates in spontaneous abortion samples using high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS). Throughout the mission, I acquired practical expertise in this analytical workflow, including sample processing, data acquisition, and result analysis.
The most significant outcome of the STSM was gaining independence in applying this novel methodology, which was developed at the host institution, as well as developing the skills to process and interpret the resulting data.
