The aim of my STSM was to investigate the pro-resolving and anti-inflammatory properties of the FPR2 agonist RTP-022 in models of endothelial inflammation, with a particular focus on vascular inflammatory responses.
During the visit, I expanded my practical experience in ex vivo vascular inflammation models using mouse thoracic aortic rings, vascular tissue preparation, and assessment of inflammatory responses. I also had the opportunity to exchange expertise in experimental design and endothelial inflammation research with collaborators at the host laboratory.
The STSM generated novel ex vivo findings demonstrating the role of FPR2 in vascular inflammatory responses. The visit also established a strong scientific collaboration with the host institution, enabled the transfer of novel FPR agonists for future studies, and laid the foundation for continued joint research and a future scientific publication.
